Karhu Media, LLC Privacy Policy

Effective date: February 13, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Karhu Media, LLC (“Karhu Media”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the VidJump mobile application (“VidJump”, the “App”).

Who this applies to

This policy applies to the App in both “Coach (Camera)” and “Athlete (Display)” modes.

Data we collect

1) Account and contact information
If you create an account or contact us, we may collect your name, email address, and authentication details. Authentication is handled through Firebase Authentication.

2) Video and photos you capture
When you record a clip in the App, the video is processed on-device and may be temporarily stored and transmitted using Apple CloudKit to enable transfer between your paired devices. Videos are intended to be deleted from CloudKit after transfer (or after a limited retention period if transfer does not complete). Copies may also be saved to your device’s Photos library if you enable that feature or if the App duplicates videos to Photos for long-term management. We do not access your Photos library content unless you grant permission, and you can revoke permissions in iOS Settings.

3) App usage and diagnostics
We collect diagnostic and performance data to keep the App stable (for example, crash logs). This may include device identifiers, app version, OS version, and crash traces. Depending on your settings, we may also collect basic analytics events to understand feature usage.

4) Push notification data
If you enable notifications, we may process a push token to deliver notifications (for example, transfer-related status). Push notification delivery uses Apple Push Notification service (APNs) and Firebase Cloud Messaging.

5) Purchase and subscription information
Subscriptions are processed by Apple (In‑App Purchase). We do not receive your full payment card details. We may receive subscription status and entitlement information through Qonversion (a subscription management provider) to unlock features.

How we use information

We use the information above to: (a) provide and operate the App (including video transfer), (b) authenticate users and secure accounts, (c) process subscriptions and restore purchases, (d) communicate with you about the App, (e) monitor and improve performance and reliability, and (f) comply with legal obligations.

Legal bases (EEA/UK GDPR)

If you are located in the EEA/UK, our legal bases for processing are: (a) performance of a contract (to provide the App features you request, including video transfer and account access), (b) legitimate interests (to secure, maintain, and improve the App and prevent abuse), (c) consent where required (for example, notifications or marketing emails, depending on your settings), and (d) legal obligation where applicable.

How we share information

We share information only as needed to operate the App and provide services, including with:

Google Firebase (Authentication, Crashlytics/Analytics/Messaging, and related services)
Apple (CloudKit for video transfer storage, APNs for notifications, and App Store In‑App Purchase processing)
Qonversion (subscription/entitlement management)
Mailchimp (email list management and optional marketing communications, if you opt in)

These providers process data on our behalf as “processors” (or “service providers”) under contractual terms. They may also process certain data as independent controllers (for example, Apple for App Store purchases).

International transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. When GDPR applies, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (where applicable) and/or the provider’s recognized transfer mechanisms.

Data retention

We keep information only as long as necessary for the purposes described above. Video clips stored via CloudKit are intended to be temporary and deleted after transfer (or after a limited retention period if transfer does not complete). Account, subscription status, and diagnostic data may be retained longer to operate the App, comply with law, and resolve disputes.

Your privacy choices and rights

Account and data deletion
You can delete your account using the in‑app delete account feature (Profile tab). You can also contact us to request deletion or access.

EEA/UK rights
If you are in the EEA/UK, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, and to data portability. You also have the right to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent. You can lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

California privacy notice
We do not sell personal information. We do not use your data for cross‑context behavioral advertising. We share information with service providers only as described above to operate the App. You can request access or deletion by contacting us.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Children

VidJump is not directed to children under 13 (or the age defined by local law), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the effective date above and, where required, provide additional notice in the App or by email.
