VidJump is an iOS coaching app that is designed to transfer small video clips quickly and automatically from one iOS device to another to provide immediate quick feedback for athletes. The app works great for sports where coaching of athletes is done at a distance and video review is important for athletes to make improvements.
How does the app work? The VidJump app needs to be installed on two different iOS devices, one for the coach and one for the athlete. Coaches with an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad can install the app, which uses the device’s camera to record videos within the app. You then install the app on an iPad for the athlete, which will automatically receive the same videos taken by the coach and can be placed in the best location for the athlete to immediately review their latest performance. Both devices need to be connected to any reliable wireless network, either WiFi or a mobile network. Using mobile networks is recommended, as you do not need to worry about WiFi range. A pairing ID is created on each device by entering a club and coach name. This can be thought of as a unique identifier that connects these devices together. When a short video is recorded by the coach in the app, the video is automatically transferred to the athlete’s iPad with the same pairing ID. The video is available for the coach to review on their device, and it is also available for the athlete to review once the video is quickly transferred to the iPad.
Why use VidJump compared to other solutions? VidJump is a much faster, easier and cost-effective solution to anything else on the market. There is no need to purchase expensive equipment and add wiring infrastructure at your club. You also do not need to manually upload and download videos. All you need is a couple of iOS devices, the VidJump app and a reliable wireless network. There is no charge for coaches to record videos within the app. The athlete’s iPad that receives the videos requires a subscription that includes a free trial.
